Cantine Volpi, Piedmont

Cantine Volpi dominates the appellation area in the Tortona Hills located in central Piedmont north of the famous province of Asti. The soil there is composed of fossil rich marl and sandstone with calcareous layers. The vineyards occupy the steep slopes of the hills that traditionally enjoy the best microclimate. In Volpedo, next to Cantine Volpi, there is La Zerba, another Estate with 7 hectares of land, characterised by regular rows of vineyards. Carlo Volpi was able to invest in both the peculiarities and the character of the vines. Using state of the art vinification equipment, extensive ageing cellars and an efficient bottling plant, the cantine’s winemaker Carlo Volpi ensures good quality wines at attractive prices.
